Our Marae Collective
About Te Kotahi a Tāmaki
Te Kotahi a Tāmaki was formed in response to the growing challenges marae face in today’s environment—operating in isolation, navigating limited resources, and accessing strategic support and funding. While each marae is at a different stage of its journey and holds its own mana motuhake, the need for a collective voice to address these shared challenges was recognised. In response, our journey began with five marae coming together to explore the idea of forming a collective.
We now have 34 marae members in and around Tāmaki Makaurau, a marae collective that provides essential resources, networking opportunities, funding opportunities, training, and support to help marae grow and thrive.
We are future-focused—advocating as a collective voice on the issues that matter most to marae. Our commitment is to ensure that marae are supported today while driving their aspirations into apōpō
