Hapū affiliated to Tauranganui include Ngāti Kaiaua, Ngāti Rangiwahitu and Ngāti Tiipa of Waikato iwiThe wharenui is Rangiwahitu, the wharekai is Tu-kotahi and the wharepuni/ruruhau is Ngāti Kaiaua.
