Tāmaki Makaurau elections 2022
September 16, 2022
Project Overview
Local Government (Auckland Council) elections occur every 3 years.
Auckland voters elect:
- A mayor
- 20 Councillors (across 13 Wards)

Tāmaki Makaurau has the largest Māori population of any city in the world! To make the elections and democratic process accessible to all our communities we want to work with groups and organisations that have established relationships and reach, as well as the trust and capability to actively promote elections and host elections activities, whilst remaining politically neutral throughout, ensuring equal access to information and opportunities for all involved.
